The Town and Country Planning (fees for applications, deemed applications, requests and site visits) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2017

Following the making of Statutory Instrument 1314 on 20 December 2017 allowing authorities to increase planning fees by 20% from 17 January 2018, it is proposed that this be taken as an urgent decision as there is no scheduled meeting of Council prior to 17 January and it would not be possible to convene a quorate meeting of Council before that date.

The decision will be taken by the Leader of the Council (with responsibility for finance) and the Executive member for Development Services. They will take the decision on 9 January.

It should be noted that this is a mandatory increase imposed by central government.
