Purpose:

Decision to appoint three councillors to Witherley Parish Council under delegated powers.

Decision:

That Councillors Martin Cartwright, Cathie Gibbens and Brian Sutton be appointed to Witherley Parish Council and that the Secretary of State be appropriately notified.

Reasons for the decision:

The number of seats on Witherley Parish Council is 11 but due to a number of recent resignations, there remained only three councillors. The quorum being four councillors rendered the parish council inquorate.

Alternative options considered:

The only available option is to make at least one appointment to the parish council to ensure it can continue to make decisions. The alternative options are not viable.
