To seek approval to write off business rates of £178,373.75.
Minutes:
Consideration was given to recommended business rate write-offs. A member asked whether the level of write-offs was similar to previous years and it was agreed that a response would be provided outside of the meeting. It was moved by Councillor Lynch, seconded by Councillor Bray and
RESOLVED –
(i) The amount of £69,872.59 be written off due to insolvency following all available enforcement and recovery options being exhausted;
(ii) The amount of £108,501.16 be written off due to insolvency following all available enforcement and recovery options being exhausted.

Minutes:
Members received a report to write off business rates of £54,840.22 in accordance with approval procedures.
Comments were received from the Chair and Vice-Chair of Finance & Performance Scrutiny.
In response to a question from members in respect of limited companies, officers confirmed that they currently did not make representation to Companies House under their legislation but would look into this and report back to members.
It was moved by Councillor Bray, seconded by Councillor Bools and
RESOLVED – that £54,840.22 be approved and writen off by the Council due to insolvency.

Minutes:
It was noted that, whilst this item could not be considered due to technical issues, a decision was due to be made by the Executive on 18 June and Finance & Performance Scrutiny would not have the opportunity to reconvene prior to that date. It was therefore suggested that authority be delegated to the chair and vice-chair to pass comments onto the Executive.
It was moved by Councillor Sutton, seconded by Councillor Glenville and
RESOLVED –
(i) The chair and vice-chair be requested to attend the Executive meeting on 18 June;
(ii) Authority be delegated to the chair and vice-chair to pass on Finance & Performance Scrutiny’s comments.
