To consider the Gambling Policy (Statement of Principles) following the recent consultation exercise.

This was considered by the Licensing Committee on 27 September 2018. An extract from the minutes of that meeting is attached.

Consideration was given to the Gambling Policy (Statement of Principles) in light of the recent consultation exercise. It was moved by Councillor Morrell, seconded by Councillor Allen and

RESOLVED – the Gambling Policy (Statement of Principles) be adopted.

To consider the Gambling Policy (Statement of Principles) in light of the recent consultation exercise and to recommend the policy to Council.

Consideration was given to the Gambling Policy (Statement of Principles) in light of the recent consultation exercise. The parts of the policy that had been updated were highlighted as outlined in paragraph 3.10 of the report.

A member asked whether spot checks of premises were undertaken to ensure compliance and in response it was noted that checks were undertaken in conjunction with the Gambling Commission, without notice on a six monthly basis.

In relation to concerns about children involved in gambling, members were assured that all premises had guidelines to follow and staff were trained to identify such matters.

It was moved by Councillor Cartwright, seconded by Councillor Allen and

RESOLVED – the Gambling Policy (Statement of Principles) be RECOMMENDED to Council for approval.
