Conferment of the title of Honorary Alderman To consider conferring the title of Honorary Alderman on Mr David Bill in recognition of his service to the Council. Minutes: In accordance with section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, members considered a recommendation to confer the title of Honorary Alderman on former councillor David Bill MBE in recognition of eminent services to the borough council.
Members spoke highly of Mr Bill, citing service as a councillor for over 50 years, his work within the community and his support for colleagues from all political groups.
It was moved by Councillor Bray, seconded by Councillor Cook and unanimously
RESOLVED – the title of Honorary Alderman be conferred upon David Bill MBE.
Mr Bill was presented with a pendant and a scroll bearing the council’s common seal. |
