RESOLVED – the minutes of the meeting held on 13 September 2023 be confirmed as a correct record.

Declarations of interest

To receive verbally from Members any disclosures which they are required to make in accordance with the Council’s Code of Conduct or in pursuance of Section 106 of the Local Government Finance Act 1992. This is in addition to the need for such disclosure to be also given when the relevant matter is reached on the agenda.

Hinckley Area Committee budget 2024/25 pdf icon PDF 259 KB

To present the revenue budget and council tax for 2024/25 for the special expenses area of Hinckley.

The committee received the draft revenue budget and council tax for 2024/25. It was noted that there was no increase in the special expenses (Hinckley area) element of council tax.

 

It was moved by Councillor Bray and seconded by Councillor Pendlebury that two additional requests for funding from reserves be agreed - £500 towards a defibrillator at the Ashby Tavern and £250 towards a street party at the Wykin Club. Upon being put to the vote, the motion was CARRIED and it was

 

RESOLVED –

 

(i)            The revenue and capital budgets and council tax for 2024/25 be endorsed;

 

(ii)          The fees and charges for 2024/25 be endorsed;

 

(iii)         £500 be granted to the Ashby Tavern towards a defibrillator;

 

(iv)         £250 be granted to the Wykin Club towards a street party.

Support funding for new Proms in the Park event 2024 pdf icon PDF 370 KB

To request funding to host Proms in the Park 2024.

Minutes:

Consideration was given to a request for funding to host Proms in the Park on Saturday, 8 June 2024. Whilst members were in support of the request, they asked that every effort be made to obtain sponsorship for the various elements of the event. It was moved by Councillor Bray, seconded by Councillor S Gibbens and

 

RESOLVED –

 

(i)            Funding of £11,500 to support the delivery of Proms in the Park 2024 be approved;

 

(ii)          Every effort be made to obtain sponsorship for the event.
