Town & Country Planning Act 1990 - applications to be determined

Schedule of planning applications attached.

Minutes:

The Chief Planning and Development Officer presented a schedule of applications along with late items and decisions were made as follows.

 

(a)        13/00725/FUL – Demolition of existing building and erection of retirement living housing with associated landscaping and car parking, St Marys Vicarage, St Marys Road, Hinckley – McCarthy & Stone Retirement Lifestyles Ltd

 

            Whilst generally in support of the application, members felt there was scope to create further car parking on the site by removing some of the poorer trees and shrubs that had been identified whilst on site, whilst maintaining all of the perimeter trees. Councillor O’Shea, seconded by Councillor Bannister, proposed that the decision be delegated to officers to discuss the possibility of removing trees to create further parking spaces. Upon being put to the vote the motion was CARRIED and it was

 

RESOLVED – the determination of the application be delegated to the Chief Planning & Development Officer subject to conditions contained in the officer’s report and late items and following discussions about the possibility of removing trees to create further parking spaces.

 

(b)        13/01044/FUL – Travellers site for 3 pitches with the erection of 3 day rooms, provision of 8 parking spaces and stone surfaced turning area, together with associated landscaping and access road, land off Leicester Road, Hinckley – Mr Freddie Price

 

On the motion of Councillor Smith, seconded by Councillor Bannister, it was

 

RESOLVED – the application be refused for the reasons outlined in the officer’s report.

 

(c)        13/01091/FUL – Part demolition and rebuild of existing dwelling, 99 Barton Road, Congerstone – Mr Robert Duvall

 

            On the motion of Councillor O’Shea, seconded by Councillor Boothby, it was

 

RESOLVED – the application be permitted subject to the conditions contained in the officer’s report.

 

(d)        13/01069/FUL – Change of use and extensions and alterations of agricultural building to form agricultural workers dwelling, 3 Markfield Lane, Botcheston – Miss Susan Johnson

 

            On the motion of Councillor Sutton, seconded by Councillor Batty, it was

 

RESOLVED – the application be permitted subject to the conditions contained in the officer’s report.

 

(e)        13/01100/FUL – Extensions and alterations to existing paint shop, Caterpillar UK Ltd, Peckleton Lane, Desford – Mr Ian Bagguley

 

            Councillor Taylor declared a personal interest at this juncture as, whilst not employed by Caterpillar, her post was currently based there. As such she did not take part in discussion or voting on this application.

 

            It was moved by Councillor Sutton, seconded by Councillor Batty and

 

RESOLVED – the application be permitted subject to the conditions contained in the officer’s report.

 

(f)         14/00042/FUL – Extension to existing club house to provide additional changing, social facilities and additional parking, Hinckley Rugby Football Club, Leicester Road, Hinckley – Mr John Tilley

 

            On the motion of Councillor O’Shea, seconded by Councillor Sutton, it was

 

RESOLVED – the decision be delegated to the Chief Planning and Development Officer to grant planning permission subject to no significant planning objections being received before the expiry of the consultation period on 4 March 2014 and subject to the conditions contained in the officer’s report.

 

(g)        14/00082/HOU – Extensions and alterations, Meadowside, High Street, Stoke Golding – Mr Steven Connor

 

            On the motion of Councillor Lynch, seconded by Councillor Batty, it was

 

RESOLVED – the decision be delegated to the Chief Planning and Development Officer to grant planning permission subject to no significant planning objections being received before the expiry of the consultation period on 7 March and subject to the conditions contained in the officer’s report.
